…is through the stomach!
Quince Films, a film and digital communications company did just that with their sweet little tactic! The name lends itself to a nice gimmicky campaign – but I love the innovative approach these guys took in getting our attention. We get calls all the time from companies looking to showcase their wares, but this one stood out for me so I thought it was worth a mention.
Jules from Quince called me in the office one morning to talk about working together, but left me very intrigued when he said I should expect a little surprise package in a few weeks time.. something that I would need to collect right away! A number of weeks went by and Jules called in advance of the delivery to ensure I’d be around to receive this surprise package.
.. and here it is:
A delicious freshly baked quince tart .. a first for me!
The whole edible treat concept was carried through to the ‘tongue-in-cheek’ copy. Having devoured the tart it only seemed right to watch their showreel and give them some time to come and meet with us. A clever tactic that worked, even if it was out of obligation.. that’s why it worked!
Would they qualify me as a converted lead – I’m not sure? There’s no real ROI in a face-to-face meeting but it may well be the start of a new business relationship – a little creativity made me take notice of Quince’s proposition and quality of work.
Fingers crossed Patisserie Valerie add quince tarts to their menus too!
